Special Report: True Abuse Cases from our archives

Warning: The Special Report that follows contains graphic text describing the violent abuse of toddlers and children. This level of abuse occurs thousands of times every day throughout the United States. There is a link to the Report at the bottom of this page. The report contains brief excerpts of cases taken from our archive of stories in the news. The final case presented is personal—it’s about a boy our founder, Michael, volunteered with for years.

Twenty cases are posted here for educational purposes, and to show visitors and our supporters the kinds of cases we are focused on in our humanitarian work. We have found that the public is largely unaware of what really goes on in “the dark world” as we have named it.  It truly is a dark and nightmarish world.

It is only when the public becomes more aware of this mostly hidden world that violent abuse can begin a downward trend, just as anti-smoking campaigns gradually led to a decrease in smoking. Awareness brings change.

Adults interested in our work are divided between those who choose to read the Special Report that follows, and those who decline to read it. Both points of view are valid and we make no judgments either way. For some, the subject is simply too disturbing. We understand.

If you want to know what “violent abuse” really means, here it is.
If you want to understand what thousands of children experience every day, here it is.
And if you want to know why we are so narrowly focused on fighting against violent abuse… this is why.
